Engineering Task Force (IETF) - develops solutions to technical and operational
problems that arise on the Internet and develops Internet standards and protocols.

Engineering Steering Group (IESG) - acts as the operational management arm of the
IETF.

Architecture Board (IAB) - oversees the development of Internet standards and
protocols, and acts as a liason between the ISOC and other standards bodies.

Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA) - chartered by the ISOC and the Federal Network
Council (FNC). The IANA is the central coordinator for the assignment of the unique
parameters that are used on the Internet, such as domain names and IP (Internet Protocol)
addresses.
